OUR RIGS
TANGO
OUR DEFENDER 110 BUILD
MAKE & MODEL: 2010 Land Rover Defender 110
HOME BASE: Yorkshire, England
PURPOSE: Go-Anywhere Workhorse built for our planned Africa Expedition
COUNTRIES VISITED: 4 and counting
DATES OWNED: 2019 - Present
HISTORY: This golden glory caught our eye from across the globe. We were in Bolivia at the time, on our first trip, and looking at Defenders back in England to build out for the next leg. We love our LR3 (Disco 3), but after hitting the 200K-mile mark on it we wanted a bit more peace of mind as we prepared to traverse the barren African landscape. Previously a county government workhorse, this orange beaut only had 30K miles on the clock. Since making it back to England we have done a full overhaul, from top to bottom, transforming Tango into an expedition-ready beast that we envisioned he would be.

LARA (aka “CROFTY”)
OUR LR3 BUILD
MAKE & MODEL: 2005 Land Rover LR3 (Discovery 3)
HOME BASE: Houston, Texas (Previously Newport Beach, California)
PURPOSE: A build that could go the distance, comfortably. Originally built for our weekend warrior trips around the West Coast and then later fully converted into a long-term overland rig for our California to Argentina Expedition.
COUNTRIES VISITED: 14
DATES OWNED: 2017 - Present
HISTORY: Once a luxury “grocery-getter” in Souther California, we rescued this ol' girl on her way into the emergency room (i.e. she needed a new gear box and was on her last leg). We scooped her up, made the gear-box swap, built her out over a two year period and then drove out of our drive-way and to the bottom of the world.

Want really get to know Crofty?
She stole our hearts back in 2017 as she was limping along. and now she’s got a comeback-kid story to tell. Want to hear more about our build-out, see the upgrades we made to her to get her overland-ready, and see where we’ve taken her? Head on over to our Crofty Build Blog Post.
